At the beginning of February I was looking for the best weekly planner for me. You might say that I had a two-month or longer delay and you are right! I wanted to add one on my Christmas wishlist but I could not find the right one for me then. And with things you use every day it simply must be love at first sight or nothing! (more…)
School chalkboards celebrate a great comeback and enter our daily lives at home or work. I came across the chalkboards some time ago on home design webs and despite my skin allergy to chalk stuff I love the idea of writing notes or messages on things covered in blackboard color. I will probably write with gloves on 😀 I am still in the process of designing my home office and so why not include a piece of chalkboard! You might use it on the wall, part of your desk, a glass bottle, into an old photo frame or a mirror…
I could not resist purchasing this shabby box. It can have so many uses in home decor and looks very French and romantic. Immediately I decided that its function in my flat will be a jewelry box. Since it does not have any separators inside and is wooden, I needed to resolve organizing jewelry by making DIY separators. (more…)
You may remember my post with my dreamy home office design – Home office in which I explained that I would like to re-arrange my work corner but that the reality will not follow my dream office design because I own a very cute but a little destructive predator… can be seen here – Shaddie, a Russian Blue Cat ^^. Nevertheless, I incorporated another task into the reconstruction… not that it has been not difficult as itself to think out a practical plus beautiful (and affordable!) solution. This another thing is that I have realized I really would like to have my work-desk at the window. You can see the view from my dining/work room in the photo on the right and above… Well, ok, I know it is not the Alpes or NY city viewed from the thirtieth floor. Any pleasant feeling you can get out of the place you live in is worth it, I believe. During my working process I have found myself having stood up from my work desk which is now facing the wall and turning my sight the other way out of the window several times. How relaxing, inspirative, feng-shui and whatever else is working seeing green in front of you! I would have been practicing this long since I moved here if there were not for the radiator under the windowsill. (more…)
Maybe I’ve got a little obsession about the little re-discoveries, DIY stuff and turning old stuff into new. Because let’s admit it, anyone can buy new things which end up in garbage after some time. Now think about how many tins, cans and jars we throw away regularly.
You might have noticed, you might not but I did… this summer literally said: restore the empty glass bottles and fill them up with summer cocktails! And I started looking at the small glass containers in a different way and fell in love with these jam jars too. How simple but visually perfect is a summer drink with fruits in a renovated jam jar! Check out what I’ve used the empty glass bottles for and some more inspo ideas you can fill up the small glass containers with… ice coffee, soft drinks, mojitos, shakes, oats, puddings, desserts, cheesecakes… (more…)
Dear home lovers, I’ve been talking about showing you the results of my plans about a ‘room with a view’ reconstruction for some time. Here it is at last. Some of you might know that I was dreaming about transforming the room for quite a long time and also shared my plans with you in one of my first blog posts where I expressed my desire to be able to use the potential of the beautiful view from the window of this room. Right below is an old picture of the room
Before the reconstruction
The space is quite small, only 9ft 10inch x 5ft 10inch but I managed to create both a homeoffice and a dining corner here. Both the homeoffice desk and the high dining table were custom-made from cherry wood and have oval corners to fit the small space naturally. The desk hiding the radiator is 5ft long x1ft 4inch wide with 2ft 7inch high metal legs. Plus I can use the window sill to place stuff on it.
